The Senator John Edwards Party Caravan Hits Town
Senator John Edwards' Party Caravan made a pit stop the other night in between Alexandria and Shreveport, and an estimated crowd of 250-500 people waited in the blazing August sun for almost two hours for him to show up. This is the closest we were able to get to the scene, as the rally was being held just off of the interstate. To further complicate matters, this particular stretch of road (highway 6) is a major (and, in some cases, ONLY) outlet for some people to get home in the communities outside of the city. To make matters even better, once Edwards stepped out of the bus to make his speech, the Secret Service stopped traffic BOTH WAYS. Fortunately, we were going the other way.
